While middle-class women can expect to live to 85, young women who are homeless or couch surfing are dying now, with a life expectancy of only 34 painful years. Welcome to America! The immense scale of attack against mental patients and frankly anyone who doesn't have money is startling. Even if they put up a tent, the police tear it up to keep them moving in the hope that they will go away and die somewhere out of sight of comfortable people with property. Canada has become cruel. For 30 years, Canadians all around me have voted for cruel policies that are killing women, disabled people, mentally ill people by evicting them out onto the streets in all kinds of weather and blaming them for their own deaths.
